As a Naturopathic Physician focusing on adult primary care, Dr. Emily Livengood works to address the underlying cause of each patient’s concern in order to help them achieve their optimum state of health. Her areas of interest include: stress management, fatigue, thyroid and adrenal support, anxiety, gastrointestinal disorders, detoxification, bio-identical hormone management, environmental medicine, and women’s health. She primarily utilizes lifestyle and nutritional counseling, breath-work and biofeedback, nutraceuticals, and herbal medicine to assist each patient on their journey towards optimum health. As primary care, she can also order blood work and standard diagnostic tests, refer to specialists if needed and prescribe medication when necessary.
Dr. Livengood grew up in Georgia and Wisconsin and received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Studies and Wildlife Ecology from Iowa State University. After working in ecology and wildlife rehabilitations for several years, she went back to school be become a Naturopath. In 2013 Dr. Livengood graduated with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University and went on to complete a two-year residency at West Seattle Natural Medicine. She continued on at West Seattle Natural Medicine as an associate doctor and built a thriving practice. During that time, she also served on the board of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
