Naturopathic physicians are specialists in natural medicine while providing primary care to patients and their families. As primary care physicians, we evaluate and diagnose medical conditions and disease using conventional as well as comprehensive alternative methods.

These diagnostic methods include:

Physical Exam – including pap smears and breast exams, well-baby checks, and complete physicals when indicated.
Blood Tests – including cholesterol testing, complete thyroid panels, advanced viral screening, anemia checks as well as specialized food allergy antibody testing.
Saliva Hormone Testing – which measures bioactive hormone levels in the body including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol.
Stool/Saliva Testing for Gut Health – including comprehensive testing for parasites, imbalances in gut flora, and food intolerances.
Urine Tests – for toxic metals such as mercury and for neurotransmitter imbalances in cases of depression and anxiety.

Patients needing x-rays, mammograms, and other imaging are referred to local imaging centers such as Central Oregon Radiology Associates (CORA) that use state-of-the-art imaging equipment and board-certified radiologists. When other specialists are necessary, our doctors can refer out like any other primary care provider to meet our patient’s individual health needs.

Unlike many health practitioners, however, our doctors seek out and treat the cause of health challenges instead of only treating symptoms. We then help patients achieve optimal health through personalized treatment plans for no two patients are alike.

Dr. Baker treats the person rather than the diagnosis. We take into account where our patients are stuck in their lives and what they need to change both immediately and over the long-term. Individualized therapies help our patients achieve whole health. Keeping true to Naturopathic philosophy, the least invasive therapy is typically used first.
